INTRODUCTION
Welcome to my Video work for the 2025-2026 Tar Heel Hockey Season. As the Director of Videography, I have led a team of videographers and video editors to tell the story of Tar Heel Hockey this season. Below are clips and edits that I have put together over the year, which have been posted across our social media platforms and on other various sites. I have also attached the intentional creative process when putting together each of these videos.
First Horizon Coliseum — October 25, 2025
This video was made possible with the narration of Carolina Hurricanes TV Analyst and former NHL player Shane Willis, who recited a script written by our team. The lighting setup and filming for this event were incredibly intentional. My stylistic choices aimed to give the video a dramatic and intense look for our game against UNC's rivals, NC State, at the historic First Horizon Coliseum in Greensboro, North Carolina. Entering Adobe Premiere Pro, I already had a vision for the clips and where to let the hockey tell the story. We were able to collaborate with the hockey outlet, College Hockey Buzz, on Instagram to have a greater reach.
Governor's Cup Promotional Video — November 23, 2025
This video was meant to showcase the personalities behind Tar Heel Hockey. By using UNC players Jack Sangster and Ander Andreev, I created a light-hearted promotional video for the annual Governor's Cup at the Lenovo Center. This video was our most-watched at the halfway point of the 2025-2026 season and had 20k views on Tar Heel Hockey's Instagram. By asking students at UNC about hockey and giving away tickets, I was also able to directly pursue my passion for growing the game of hockey in an underserved market.
Senior Night Video — January 30, 2025
This video showcases our seniors before senior night. This video was put together in a time crunch from when I acquired the pictures and materials to make it. My goal was to showcase each player throughout their hockey career, and proceed to highlight their career as Tar Heels.
Westchester & Temple Weekend Recap — January 9-10, 2025
This video was made with a quick turnaround time and utilized effective techniques to make the video compelling, specifically the music choice. I wanted this video to display the "beauty" of hockey. This is why some of the clips themselves are in slow-motion, while the cuts are speedy and unpredictable, representative of the sport.
Goalie Recap — December, 2025
This video, along with the one preceding it, is designed to cultivate a similar emotional tone and atmosphere. The song “What More Can I Say” was intentionally selected to underscore a sequence of standout goalie saves from the Fall semester. The repetitive lyric “you’re hurting me” serves as a thematic extension of the goaltender’s role — denying opportunities and frustrating the opposing team through shot-stopping.
Outdoor Celebration — November 14, 2025
This video was shot at Truist Field in Charlotte, NC, during UNC's outdoor game against the USC Gamecocks. The goal shown in the video was at a crucial moment in the game, and eventually forced overtime — when making this video, I wanted to show the drama. Not only was the celebration unique to the venue, but also the moment.
